Following graduation from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Absalom served on active duty in the United States Navy at the Charleston Regional Medical Center in Charleston, SC. In July 1975, he entered private practice in Pittsburgh. Together with his professional staff they have maintained a successful prevention oriented family practice of dentistry with emphasis on cosmetics.
Since 1988, Dr. Absalom has been involved in forensic dentistry. He has had extensive training and experience as a forensic odontologist.
In 1994, he participated in the recovery and identification of victims in the crash of USAir Flight 427 in Pittsburgh, and was also activated following the tragic events of 9/11 to assist in the crash of United Flight 93 in Somerset, PA and the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City. He was more recently deployed to Biloxi, MS and New Orleans, LA following Hurricane Katrina. He also does consulting work for the Medical Examiners of Allegheny and Cambria Counties.
In addition to the many hours of continuing education in dentistry, Dr. Absalom recently completed the Master in Business Administration degree at Waynesburg College.
